This is the best weather for ascents of the longer walls on the Chief, since there are long periods of clear and warm weather. September is a wonderful bonus month for rock climbing in Squamish, often allowing perfect fall conditions. It does rain more often as we get farther into fall. So you can see that rock climbing in Squamish has a good long season until the cold winter rains arrive, usually in late October, but sometimes early November. While that is the end of the “consistent” climbing, the winter months do offer climbable weather, but it is necessary to be flexible if the bad weather hits.
