Squamish Recreation

Diving, sailing and fishing charters are all available from the marina located about one block away from the motel.

Porteau Cove which is a 15 minute drive South of Squamish boasts an underwater park with man made reefs and a sunken ship for divers to explore.

The Stawamus Chief is the second largest piece of granite in the world and draws mountain climbers from all over the world.  You can look out over the Chief from the comfort of your motel room or take the short drive to the view area at the base of the mountain which provides an excellent view of these daredevils and is the entrance to the hiking trail that winds up the back side of the mountain.  The view from the top makes it one of the most rewarding short hikes anywhere.

Shannon Falls is nestled just south of The Chief and and is a beautiful park and picnic area.

The Britannia Beach's BC Museum of Mining (once the largest copper producer in North America) is located 10 minutes South of Squamish and hosts underground tours explaining the mining techniques employed there.
